| Born into a wealthy family, it was only the love of his mother that saved Mao from the harsh life on the streets, if he could survive the night of course. The reason being was the soft fuzzy furred ears placed on the tops on the light blondish head along with a matching tail sprouted from the base of his tiny spine, and tiny he was. Days later, vibrant blue orbs looked up at a delighted mother, a mother without prejudice and simple love. It was a shame his father was not so loving. Cruel cold eyes never looking his son’s way. No, the chimera, from his gene, was not his child. No child of his would bring such shame to the family. But even without his father’s attention Mao was allowed to grow up with some happiness, not able to leave the house but his mother stayed with him and taught him things, how to speak, to read. Still there was always that part which longed for his father to just look at him… Mao was an only child until his mother fell pregnant when he was just turning five years of age. The event was joyous that even his father could not contain the hope that this child would be perfect and not… Abnormal like Mao. The strawberry blonde kittenish boy looked forward to having a sibling, having someone to play with more his age. As much as Mao loved his mother she was still a busy adult and not always able to play. | The tragedy that followed only months later forced a dark cloud over the whole building, the lady of the house losing her life in child birth as well as the child itself. Another boy. And only a skin condition hinted at the hybrid DNA. Not even given a change to grieve, to even understand the sudden disappearance of his mother Mao was taken from the house by his father, driven to a busy part of the city and told to stay put. It had to have been days the child stood or sat there crying, for someone, anyone. But no one dared look the weeping child’s way. Eventually passed by a group of runaways Mao was taught how to survive alone just barely by stealing what he needed, but a large part of him wanted a home. Two years later the boy was eventually taken in by a man willing to care for the young boy, giving Mao a place to call home and be safe. To grow happily… |
